Calculates and links an ICU potassium dose, KCl ampoule requirement, withdrawn volume, dilution, infusion time, potassium rate, pump rate, route, and monitoring safeguards.

Enter the current measured value from 0.1 to 10.0 mmol/L. Values ≥5.0 mmol/L are a hard stop for potassium replacement.

Calculation and recommendation

Verify the dose, formulation, compatibility, route, concentration, rate, fluid volume, renal function, and monitoring against the patient’s condition and current local policy. Potassium concentrate must never be given by direct IV injection. Patient weight, renal function, urine output, RRT status, potassium already received, and other high-risk conditions are not calculator inputs and must be reviewed using the individualization notes before applying any displayed value.
